Cancellation Policy

Purpose This policy outlines the responsibilities, expectations, and commitments between the Dog Trainer and the Client to ensure safe, effective, and humane training for all dogs in our care. Training Philosophy: Positive reinforcement methods are the foundation of all training. No use of harsh punishment, intimidation will be used during any training session. Training will focus on building trust, communication, and long-term behavioural success. Trainer Responsibilities 1. Provide professional, safe, and effective training techniques tailored to the individual dog. 2. Monitor the dog’s health, stress, and wellbeing during all training sessions. 3. Keep detailed progress notes and communicate updates with the Client. 4. Maintain confidentiality of Client information. 5. Carry liability insurance and comply with all local animal welfare regulations. Client Responsibilities 1. Ensure the dog is healthy before training begins. 2. Provide accurate information about the dog’s history, behaviour, and health. 3. Commit to practicing training exercises consistently outside of scheduled sessions. 4. Provide necessary equipment (leash, collar/harness, treats, toys) unless otherwise agreed. 5. Supervise children and other pets during training sessions to prevent accidents. Safety Policy Dogs must remain on leash during sessions unless directed otherwise by the trainer. Aggressive behaviours will be addressed with caution; the trainer may stop a session if safety is at risk. The trainer reserves the right to refuse or discontinue training if a dog’s behaviour presents a serious danger. Payment & Cancellation Payment is due as outlined in the service agreement (per session or package). Cancellations must be made at least 24 hours in advance to avoid being charged for the session and refunds are not guaranteed but may be offered at the trainer’s discretion. Liability The Client understands that dog training involves some risk of injury to people, property, or dogs. The Client accepts responsibility for their dog’s behavior and agrees not to hold the trainer liable for any damages outside of training sessions. Agreement By engaging training services, both the Trainer and Client agree to abide by this policy in order to create a safe, respectful, and effective training environment.
